Cancer

CancerCare Manitoba is provincially mandated as a centre of excellence in cancer control and is committed to the delivery of cancer services to all Manitobans. The Community Cancer Programs Network is a provincial program of CancerCare Manitoba which enables patients to receive cancer care and treatment. This well-established program has provided care to Manitobans for over two decades.
Most cancers can be treated safely in a Community Cancer Program. Family physicians or surgeons refer patients to a cancer specialist (oncologist) in Winnipeg who will determine if treatment can be provided at a Community Cancer program. Care is managed by a team of health care professionals in the Community Cancer Program, including physicians, nurses and pharmacists who have received specialized education in cancer.
